Blog #11 What stands out to you as meaningful when you look at everything, we have done this semester?

As we come to the end of this semester, I have for sure learned so much. I took away from this class when we did that no-talking card game, the privileged circles, and my placement as a whole.  First, the no-talking card game was cool because it allowed us all to learn what it is like to have disadvantages and taught us to think outside the box and use our resources. The challenging part of this game was that as we moved to the different tables, the different groups had different instructions, and we had to adjust the way we played the game without talking. I really enjoy this activity and will probably steal it for the future. The Second thing that had an impact on me was when we all did a privileged circles. We were each given a printed privilege circle, and we circled the things that best fit us. We then each cut our circles out and added them together on a large piece of paper. I really liked this because I was able to learn about my classmates and see how different we are. Doing this activity made me feel more comfortable in the class because I felt that there was no judgment, no matter what. Lastly, we were assigned a classroom to go to and work with kids, and observe the classroom to get some experience. I have learned so much going to this classroom, and I have also been given the chance to see what an unprivileged school looks like, and I have never been given that opportunity before, so I am very grateful for this opportunity. Overall, throughout this course, I have learned so much and can't wait to continue my way through my education classes.

Thanks so much for listening.
